Can I suck your's?

We are trying to get Ulia to stop sucking her thumb,so tonight as I was laying beside her trying to get her to sleep she says "can I suck your thumb If I cant suck mine?" Poor thing is really trying to stop.

That's funny. I'm guessing the answer was no?!? ;) Good luck with the no thumb thing. I hear it can get worse before it gets better. Hope it's a smooth transition for all of you.

Thumb sucking doesn't bother me... it's the having the ENTIRE hand crammed into their mouth (how do they DO that?!) that drives me insane!

I figure their thumb has to be at least modestly cleaner than the rest of their hand!

AK (age 2) still uses a paci at bedtime... that keeps the daytime thumbsucking down to a minimum. If she doesn't give that up on her own in the next year, we'll deal with it around 3.

I was just looking into the thumb sucking problem. Someone suggested putting socks over their hands at night and wrapping them with duck tape to keep them on. I don't know if it works, but I might try it if it goes too long.
